1. Introduction
These terms and conditions govern your use of the BuildSmart Advisory website and services. By using our website or engaging our services, you accept these terms in full. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services.
2. Our Services
BuildSmart Advisory provides property development advisory services, including:
- On-site consultation visits
- Planning permission guidance
- Building regulations advice
- Professional referrals to architects, structural engineers, and builders
Our services are advisory in nature. We do not provide architectural, engineering, or legal services directly. Any referrals to third-party professionals are made in good faith, but we are not responsible for their work or conduct.
3. Consultation Bookings
3.1 Booking Process
When you submit a booking request, you are requesting an appointment. The booking is not confirmed until we contact you to arrange a specific date and time, and payment has been received.
3.2 Payment
The consultation fee is £299 (or as otherwise stated at the time of booking). Payment is required prior to the consultation taking place. We accept bank transfer.
3.3 Cancellation
If you need to cancel or reschedule your consultation:
- More than 48 hours notice: Full refund or reschedule available
- 24-48 hours notice: 50% refund or reschedule available
- Less than 24 hours notice: No refund, but we may offer a reschedule at our discretion
If we need to cancel or reschedule for any reason, we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund.
4. Service Limitations
Our consultation service includes:
- A one-hour on-site visit
- Verbal advice and guidance
- A written summary of recommendations (sent within 7 days)
- Reasonable follow-up phone support
Our service does NOT include:
- Architectural drawings or designs
- Structural calculations
- Planning applications or submissions
- Building control applications
- Legal advice
- Project management
5. Professional Referrals
We may recommend third-party professionals (architects, engineers, builders) based on our experience working with them. These recommendations are made in good faith, but:
- We receive no commission or payment for referrals
- We are not responsible for their work, pricing, or conduct
- You are free to use any professionals you choose
- You should conduct your own due diligence before engaging any third party
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, images, and design, is the property of BuildSmart Advisory and is protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
Our advisory services are provided in good faith based on our experience and knowledge. However:
- We are not liable for decisions you make based on our advice
- We are not liable for the work of any third parties we recommend
- Our liability is limited to the fee paid for our services
- We are not liable for any consequential or indirect losses
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Service Area
Our standard service area covers Milton Keynes and surrounding areas within approximately 20 miles. Consultations outside this area may be subject to a travel supplement.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
